Pool Goes to the Dogs at West Village of Shirlington

West Village of Shirlington runs an annual event called Pool Goes to the Dogs, where the residents' dogs get the pool to themselves for an afternoon. They invited us to set up on the deck, and we spent the whole event talking to pet parents.

It was a good afternoon. Dogs in the water, owners in the deck chairs, and a steady stream of people stopping by our table to ask what the app actually does.

That last part is why we were there. I'm the tech founder, so it's easy to spend every hour inside the product and never meet the people using it. A folding table next to a pool fixes that in about ten minutes. Every conversation told us something about what to build next.

West Village is piloting the dashboard

One more thing came out of the weekend. West Village is going to run a pilot of Wagabond for Apartments, our pet compliance platform for pet-friendly buildings.

Here's what that means for the building. The management team gets a real-time view of every pet on the property, with vaccine status and automatic alerts before anything expires, instead of a folder of PDFs collected at move-in and never opened again. Residents get a voucher, set up their pet's profile in under five minutes, and keep those records for the life of the pet, even if they move somewhere else.
